For a different look, try Stamping a COLLAGE! Soft colors work best as well as one or two bold images. Work around the main image. Stamping Off works well here (that is stamp your image first onto scrap paper and then onto the piece - making for a softer image). Sponge or directly ink around the edges to antique it a bit.
Try using numbers and letters. Moving? Make cards for your friends with you new address on it! How about a baby card? Friend's bday! Any occasion's the perfect occasion for a collage card!
