Stamp-A-Majig made easy w/ Vellum 5/28/08 PDF Print E-mail

When you purchase your Stampi-A-Majig from Stampin' Up, you will receive a black plastic "t" shaped piece and a square sheet of plastic with two sides. The first side is smooth and the other is a bit bumpy.

Here's a quick tip on how to use SAMJ and a little tip for using Vellum (or clear acetate).

Image
you need the Stamp-A-Majig, vellum, ink pad (not shown) and stamp set.

I am using the vellum so that i can store the sheet with my set. First line up the vellum square under the SAMJ as shown. The corner should fit perfectly into the SAMJ corner.

next, take your inked stamp and fit it right into the corner using the SAMJ as a guide. Stamp down the image.

repeat with all your stamps and you rotate the vellum around. Use additional pieces of vellum as needed for larger sets.

Image
now place your vellum over the place you wish to stamp. Line it up to where you want the image. (This is why you need the plastic sheet, vellum or clear acetate film).

Now replace the SAMJ to the corner again fitting it exactly.

now  remove the vellum holding the SAMJ securely in place and stamp the inked stamp in the corner of the SAMJ.

The reason why I use vellum is that I can store the stamped overlay with my sets. that way when I need to use the set, i don't have to re-make the overlay each time on the reuseable plastic sheet (that comes with the SAMJ).

This tool is especially helpful when spelling words using ABC stamps. You can line up the letters exactly in a row.

Hope this tip was helpful!
