Using your circle punch to round the ends of your layer.  Take your stamped image and choose the correct size circle. There are many sizes to choose from. choos ethe one closest to the width of your layer. Here I am using the 1 3/8" circle punch. 
slide the layer in exposing the long end as shown. and punch.  finished 
you can use most of the punches this way. Here's one using the Word Window punch. 
TAG punch 
finished layers. If you don't have a Word Window Punch, try using an even smaller circle punch... like the 3/8" circle...
