Here is a faux technique for making LINEN paper! Great for making "MAN-CARDS" (as I like to call them... I find that making cards for men can be a challenge)

Image

Supplies needed: Rubber Stamp (Stem Silhouettes - Winter mini), Chocolate Chip Stampin' Ink Pad, Creamy Caramel Craft Ink Pad, Sanding Blocks, Stamping Sponges, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Card Stock (Mellow Moss color - for card base), 4 1/4" x 2" strip (Chocolate Chip color - for layer), 2 3/4"x3 3/4" card stock (Creamy Caramel for layer),  2 1/2"x3 1/2" Glossy White Card Stock.

FYI: I tried to use the glossy inkjet paper (I thought it was the same as the glossy card stock SU offers... It DID NOT WORK. The Ink Jet Photo paper has a film on it for ink jets. So the SU ink does not glide over it and thus creating a goopy mess)

step 1: Using th3 sanding block, scratch the glossy card stock first horizontally and then vertically on the glossy side of the card stock. The more your scratch, the deeper the lines. Don't be worried to scratch all over. As long as the lines are horizontal and vertical. (No swirls)

step 2: Take your stamping sponge and dab on the Craft Ink Pad (Creamy Caramel used here).

step 3: Then rub on the glossy card stock. REPEAT step 2 and 3 until the whole card is covered.

Rub the card horizontally and vertically and soon you will start to see the linen lines on the card. Rub some parts harder and some softer. Keep repeating until you are happy with the linen effect.

step 4: Stamp your image using the Classic ink pad (Chocolate Chip). Let it dry - shouldn't take very long.

step 5: Layer the card together.

step 6: stamp on your sentiments. There you have it!
