Technique for making FAUX STITCHES

Image
supplies needed for technique: Paper Piercing Tool, Paper Piercing template, paper piercing foam backer pad (all found in the  CRAFTERS TOOL KIT), white gel pen, cardstock.
additional supplies needed for this porject: 3 felt flowers, 3 half back pearls (in Pretties Kit),  adhesives, card base and layers.

I started by adding my first band layer to the card so i could have  starting point for my stiching.

I lined my template (that has hole 1/8" apart) up to the yellow layer.

using piercing tool, pierce holes in equal increments. These are your stitch holes.

Image
after you have made all your holes it should look like this.

Image
take your gel pen and connect dot-to-dot. Not in one swift movement line the whole length of the card, but conecting each dot to dot.

here's a finished image of the stitching.

add your embellishments and you're done!

Image
this is a front view. I added this so you could see how the felt flowers do not have a sheen in real life... (but the flash from the camera adds the sheen). However in this photo it is not true to color (which isROSE RED). Next photo shows closer to real color.

Image
now you see the flash was on and the sheen is back... but the color is truer to life.
