Treasure Keeper  - Paper Hollow Book

You can make a set of matching cards as a gift or keep treasures inside! There's no limit to your imagination!

 Image

Supplies needed: 6.5" x 8" CARD STOCK (A) piece for base, 6.5"x10.5" CARD STOCK (B) piece for cover,  adhesive,  Paper trimmer w/ scorer, Pearl bead (Pretties Kit) or other large bead, linen thread or twine or other fancy fiber, tape, extra DSP or other embellishments to decorate your box.

5 Matching Stamped Cards and envelopes for insert (not needed).

Step 1. Score 1" on each 4 sides of CARD STOCK A.

Step 4. Score CARD STOCK B at 4.75" and then flip it around and score again at 4.75".  This should leave 1" space in the middle of the piece.

Step 5. Adhere the "spine" of the book as shown.

This is a view of the assembled keeper up til now.

Now is the time to decorate as you wish. I added brads to the spine and lined the inside with DSP as well as lused some more DSP to decorate. I stamped the cover using Tres Chic stamp set.

Step 6. secure fiber between base and back cover. Then finish adhering the back cover to the base. Here I tied a small knot in the fiber and taped it down to the back cover. (This fiber is retired from SU but you can use think ribbon, linen thread, twine or any decorative string).

Step 7. Attach the Big Bead (Pearl) to the front cover as shown.  I threaded a fiber through the hole and then punched a tiny hole in the cover. Then tied a knot once threading it through the cover and used tape to secure.

I covered the exposed string with more DSP!
