Photo Cube adapted from tutorial by Rose Ann Reynolds Here's one I made for a friend who just had a new baby boy. I did not show the photos at the end to protect their privacy. supplies: 12" trimmer with scoring blade, paper snips, 12x12" cardstock, sticky strip, photos (wallet sizes cut down well), designer paper for layers and embellishments. (stamp sets, ink- as desired) using Scoring Blade - Score the 12x12" card stock at 1/2", 3 1/4", 6", 8 3/4" and 11 1/2" Turn the cardstock so the scored lines are horizontal. Score at 2 3/4", 5 1/2", 8 1/4", and 11" using cutting blade - cut ALONG the 2 3/4" score line stopping at the 3 1/4" score line at the bottom. turn the cardstock so your cut is now horizontal and cut down from the point you stopped. (cutting alongalong the 3 1/4" score line starting 2 3/4" down from the top). Hold the cardstock in an "L" shape with the 1" flap to the bottom right. Trim 1/2" off of the 1" flap. trim away the two marked flaps and the tiny square at the bottom right. After trimming away at the 3 portions, trim the corners (as you will see in the next photo.). Crease all score marks.
flip the "L" shap over and add Sticky Strip to the 1/2" tab. flip it back over (so it looks like a "L" again) and roll the right side into a box shape. Adhere the sticky strip tab. (*see bottom for note)
assemble the rest of the box. Use Sticky Strip in the portions shown. *tip! when applying sticky strip, I apply as close to the edge of the tabs as possible. This will ensure a more "closed" fit. here's a view of the finished cube. NOW to embellish! I used 2 3/4" cardstock squares and 2 1/2" designer paper squares to layer. Then cut the photos at 2 1/4" to fit on top of that. my finished cube has photos on all 6 sides... very cute! *alternate: for mailing purposes, only adhere at this step. Leave the next step unattached and leave instructions for assembling. This way you can mail your photocube flat and save money!
