POP UP CARDS

The measurements here are for the standard 4.5"  x 5" card size. You can adjust everything to make any size card you wish (as well as any size pop up layer!)

Image
Supplies needed: 8.5"x5" card stock (white), 8"x4.5" inner layer cardstock base (Mellow Moss), stamp set(s), ink pads, markers, designer paper and other cardstocks for layers, paper trimmer (not shown), paper snips (not shown) and adhesive.

first start out by making the top layer of the card. Folding the white cardstock in half and embellishing it as desired.

fold the second card stock base in half (this is the inside of the card and is a half inch smaller than the white piece.)

with the Mellow Moss cardstock folded, I measured about 1.75" and 2.25" points and added small dots. this is where I will cut two notches in.

Cut about 1" notches at the dots. And fold the tab as shown.

open the card and flip the notch as shwon so you have a right angle piece. This is where you attach the sentiment.

make your inside embellishment layer. This piece is about 3" x 2.5".

adhere to the right angle tab.

Then layer the inner card to the outer card.

all finished!
Alternates: why not make the right angle tab longer and make a "floating" inside embellishent? Or try a different size card. try making a vertical card instead of a horizontal card. there are lots of ways to change the way this card can look!

If you have any pop up cards to share... please contact me with the photo! I will add it to the gallery!
